Salem Middle School opened in the fall of 2004 and is one of the newest middle schools in Western Wake County. We have enjoyed a very successful inaugural year, creating many firsts and traditions intended to carry on for many years to come. Led by our principal, Allen Ellzey, Salem is an exciting place to work and learn.
At Salem Middle, we operate under the principles and ideas that every child
can succeed and we create an environment of empowerment. Parents, teachers
and administrators work together in a true partnership, or a Professional
Learning Community (PLC), to ensure student achievement. This environment
has proven successful and we continually strive to improve and fine-tune our approaches. It's no wonder that "Spartans lead the way."
As you know, academics is only one part of a child's learning experience. Salem Middle provides a safe and enriching environment for your middle schooler to experience a variety of elective classes (band, performing arts, technology, and more!) along with extracurricular activities (all sports, dance/step team, Newbery Book Club, just to name a few!).
